A MESSAGE FROM JILL METZ

Progress continues as the remarkable momentum for marriage equality has grown such that 35 states now recognize marriage for same-sex couples. In 2013, 34% of Americans lived in marriage equality states. As we start 2015, 70% of Americans live in marriage equality states.

Last year brought the most significant nondiscrimination protection to LGBT people in history with the signing of an executive order to protect LGBT federal workers. In addition, the federal government has upheld the 2013 DOMA decision by the U.S. Supreme Court by recognizing the marriages of same-sex couples for almost all federal purposes regardless of the state in which the couple ends up residing.

This great momentum did not happen in a vacuum, rather hard work and attention to detail has brought us close to the promise of full equality in order to form a more perfect union.

As always we will continue to fight for equality, lead the charge for inclusion in the law, and represent you in your legal needs.
